The story of our relationship is one of modern love and senebilities

The earliest photo of Reub and Ash
We met online (classic), and things almost ended there—Ash was such a bad replier that Reub nearly gave up before we’d even met. Luckily, he stuck it out, and once we actually started dating, we clicked straight away. Ash had just moved to Queensland, Reub was newly single, and we found common ground pretty quickly—turns out we’re both into the same random nerdy stuff like DnD, terrible TV and a mutual love of food and drinks. Reuben’s mates nicknamed Ash various combinations of “chicken and cheese girl” (ask us later), and the rest is history. That first year was all about getting to know each other and realising this might just be something special.
covid
Like everyone else, COVID threw a bit of a curveball into our plans—but it also helped make one of our biggest decisions. After a year of dating (and realising the pandemic wasn’t going anywhere), we decided to move in together. Reub had just moved from Clayfield to Boondall, and we set up home with his two nephews, Caleb and Dylan. Around that time in 2020, we had our first weekend away in the Gold Coast, then in 2021 squeezed in a trip to Cairns with our friends Tom and Marcie. Reuben, Tom and Marcie road-tripped up through central Queensland, while Ash flew in later thanks to work. We both went scuba diving, soaked up the sun, and Reuben discovered a deep, passionate love... for dry-aged steak.
the fur house
Over the years, we’ve shared our home with a small (but mighty) collection of pets—five in total! Wally and Seeker, who we miss dearly, and our current crew: Zephyr, Icarus (aka Kiki), and Mina. Our house is always covered in fur, but it’s also overflowing with love. Mina is our little cuddle bug who never says no to a pat, while Kiki is the sassy queen of the house, and loves the belly rubs. Wally had a “try anything once” attitude to food, and Seeker’s signature blep faces still make us smile when we think of him. And then there’s Zeph, whose constant singing is basically our home’s background music. Life’s never quiet—but it’s always full of heart thanks to them.
the rest is history
The rest of our relationship has been filled with so much love, laughter, and fun adventures. We’ve made incredible memories with our Supanova friends over the years, travelled far and wide—visiting Ash’s family and friends back in Adelaide, heading to New Zealand for Reub’s family events, and sneaking in a few interstate and local getaways too. Most recently, we ticked Japan and Singapore off the bucket list (and already want to go back).

After the wedding, we’re planning a little honeymoon escape, with a bigger Europe trip on the cards for 2027. We can’t wait for what’s next!
